Thank you for your interest!

I stopped updating the plugin a while ago, and there's no reason to start supporting it again. Times change. Flash was a top-notch technology 3 years ago, but not in today's mobile era.

New technologies are there and one of the best gallery viewers is now a wordpress plugin. Please see Fotorama Wordpress Plugin. You'll love it!

Picasna 1.5 Release Notes

In this release I added some features that Picasna users requested.
Due to a major bug fix, Picasna should work with larger number of server configurations. Now the script that generates and caches the Picasaweb xml responses is located on picasna server (not on blog owner’s hosting).

What’s new:

— Keyboard control (Right/Left/Space for Flash Player 10).
— Caching for faster loading.
— Fetching all public albums.
— Bug fixes.

Now to display all public albums from your account, just put the following link with your Picasaweb username:
<a href=”http://picasaweb.google.com/your-username/allpublic”>Gallery</a>

Picasna 1.2 Release Notes

In this release I added some features that first Picasna users requested.

Let’s see what’s new:

— UTF-8 Unicode for all text! (All languages support)
— Light and dark color schemes.
— Next image preloading
— Reduced gallery file size (26kb instead of 135kb)
— Hide photo-caption field if empty
— Bug fixes

Now to change the color of your gallery, just change it in Picasna settings.

In future releases

We got big plans for this plugin. Here’s the short list of what you might see in next versions of Picasna:
— Sidebar widget
— Several albums in one gallery
— More services to work with (standalone, Flickr, Vimeo)
— Keyboard control
— Smart layout (to support smaller screen sizes and automatic thumbnailing)
— iPhone/iPod Touch/Android support
— Video support

And in a couple days you can test the Picasna Widget that allows you to show your image galleries everywhere even without WordPress (which is cool anyway).

Broken layout fix

If your layout looks a bit weird after you post your albums using Picasna, it may happen if you have nothing but the album in your post.
It can look like this:
fullscreen-capture-4252009-32925-pm

To fix it, we can just add the following div tag to our post (in HTML mode):

<div style="clear:both"></div>

quick_fix_post_edit

After this fix the layout should be fine:
fullscreen-capture-4252009-33053-pm
